Business Insider is hiring a reporting fellow to join our Tech team.

The Role & Team:
We are looking for a reporting fellow interested in the fast-moving world of artificial intelligence tech companies startups and venture capital. Our team covers the companies founders and investors shaping the future and holds them accountable.
The ideal candidate is curious about how AI is transforming industries how startups are built and scaled and how venture capital is flowing through this ecosystem. Youre excited to write about emerging technologies the people behind them and the business driving the next generation of AI companies.
Youre eager to build sources develop a sharp understanding of the tech ecosystem and spot trends before they go mainstream. Youre just as interested in a funding scoop as you are in a deeper story about how AI is changing work power and money.
Youre versatile enough to move quickly on breaking news while also pursuing profiles lists andtrend stories. Youre a collaborative teammate who wants to grow as a reporter in a fast-paced supportive newsroom.
This job title is for an early-career journalist who is grasping the Business Insider way and refining their original reporting skills.
Here are some potential stories
- Responsibilities:
- Report and write stories on AI startups and venture capital
- Pitch and develop original story ideas from quick hits to long-form features
- Build relationships with founders investors and industry insiders
- Contribute to lists profiles and data-driven stories
- Use your learnings and sourcing to produce at least 3 stories per week through a combination of original reporting scoops and formats that are known BI reader favorites.
- Begin to hone self-editing skills and use feedback to refine news judgment story selection pitching and writing.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has solid sourcing reporting and writing skills.
- Is eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced and collaborative newsroom.
Salary & Benefits:
- Fellows are paid $23 per hour (overtime when needed and approved)
- PTO and paid holidays
