PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide safe therapeutic care and coordination of services throughout the nursing process of assessment diagnosis planning implementation and evaluation related to heart transplant patients
Acquire and develop state-of-the-art understanding of UNOS CMS and Washington State Dept of Health regulatory standards and apply this understanding to the role of leading and coordinating team efforts to meet or exceed all standards for quality transplant patient care
Act as expert resource for developing and improving clinical policies procedures order sets and guidelines
Act as leader of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement for the area of emphasis - Cardiac Transplantation
Advise and facilitate the clinical activities of the pre- and post-transplant RN coordinators as directed by the RN Manager of AHFVT service and according to the operational oversight in the ambulatory clinic environment by the Health Services Manager
Work collaboratively with other nursing colleagues Advanced Care Practitioners attending and resident physicians Medical Directors of the cardiac transplant service and other professionals within the Regional Heart Center to ensure appropriate and highest quality care for the program
REQUIREMENTS:
Current license to practice as an RN in Washington State by start date
Current BLS and ACLS
At least 2 years of professional nursing experience including clinical nursing expertise in managing heart transplant patient care
