MES Engineer (PAS-X) Chemical Manufacturing

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MES Engineer with PAS-X expertise to join our growing team in this role you will drive the design implementation and optimization of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) within a chemical manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in aligning industrial automation initiatives with business strategy while coordinating cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design implement and maintain MES solutions with a focus on Werum PAS-X
- Collaborate with production quality IT and engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Lead and coordinate MES-related projects ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives
- Translate business requirements into technical MES solutions
- Support digital transformation and automation strategies across manufacturing operations
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards (e.g. GMP where applicable)
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and stakeholders
- Troubleshoot optimize and continuously improve MES performance and reliability
Requirements
- Masters degree in Engineering Automation Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MES industrial automation or related roles
- Proven hands-on experience with PAS-X (Werum)
- Strong background in industrial automation systems and manufacturing processes
- Experience in chemical or process manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage projects
- Solid understanding of business strategy in industrial/automation contexts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Languages
- Fluent German and English (both required)
