Job Summary
GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Material/Geotechnical Technician/Technologist to join our Team. GEMTEC currently has openings for a Materials/Geotechnical Technician/Technologist in our Saint John NBoffice location.
The ideal candidates will have experience in general construction activities with materials testing and inspection experience considered an asset.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- College Level Diploma in Civil Engineering Technician.
- Twoyears experiencein civil construction.
- Experience with materials testing and inspection.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong multi-tasking organization and planning skills.
- Possess ability to lift 30-50 lbs routinely as.
Main Duties:
- Laboratory testing of aggregates soilsconcreteand asphalt.
- Field testing and sampling of aggregates soils concrete and asphalt.
- Various officelaboratoryand field tasks related to materials testing geotechnical engineering and environmental engineering.
- Conduct construction surveys to support engineering projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project activities and deliverables.
- Communicate project updates milestones and potential issues to clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Other duties as.
Position:
- Seasonal and term positions are available.
- Must have avalid drivers license and have access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.
