Overview
We are seeking an experiencedCNC Machinist with strong proficiency inOkuma machines to join our weekend shift team. This is asetup-level rolenot entry-levelrequiring hands-on experience with CNC machine setup operation and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate can work independently read and interpret complex blueprints and ensure precision machining with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operateOkuma CNC lathes and/or mills according to production requirements.
- Perform full machine setups including tooling offsets work holding and program adjustments.
- Read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings GD&T and specifications.
- Verify part dimensions using calipers micrometers height gauges and other precision measurement tools.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
- Follow safety procedures and uphold quality standards throughout shift operations.
Qualifications
- Required: Previous hands-on experience operating and setting upOkuma CNC machines.
- Minimum 23 years of CNC machining/setup experience (nonentry level).
- Strong understanding of machining processes speeds/feeds and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work thefull weekend shift (Fri/Sat/Sun).
