Salary: Up to 30000 depending on experience option to earn overtime payments (once qualified).
As a Water Quality Maintenance Technician youll play a vital role in improving water quality by carrying out mains flushinga process that removes sediment and particles from water mains to reduce customer contact and enhance service. Youll be part of our Network Infrastructure Programme Team where health and safety is at the heart of everything we do.
No prior experience in the water industry No problem. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who bring fresh ideas strong attention to detail and a passion for doing meaningful work.
Inspect network assets and identify issues before work begins
Carry out mains flushing and field activities in line with Southern Water policies and RAMS
Collaborate with Engineering Operations and Control Room teams to minimise customer disruption
Record and submit flushing data via company systems and mobile apps
Report site incidents and near misses with mitigation actions
Deliver excellent customer service and respond to queries in the field
Seek continuous improvement opportunities to enhance team performance
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across counties
Strong communication and people skills
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations
Attention to detail and stakeholder awareness
Physical resilience to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Mains flushing or water network experience (preferred but not essential)
NRSWA street works experience (preferred but not essential)
Experience in water industry.
