Job Summary
Under pharmacist supervision independently performs tasks related to the filling of medication orders maintains both manual and computer based records prepares and compounds medications using appropriate technique supplies controlled substances and maintains accurate records of disposition maintains inventories in the pharmacy work areas; supplies medications and stock to assigned areas and appropriately bills for items supplied.
Education and Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Registration with State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy required
- Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred will provide 6 months to obtain in not certified.
- Completion of a BCI & FBI criminal records check required
Experience
- One year of Pharmacy Tech experience or completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training program
Other Skills Competencies and Qualifications
- Ability to communicate verbally in person and over the telephone and in writing with patients pharmacists nurses physicians and other healthcare personnel.
- Successful completion of basic pharmaceutical math calculation assessment.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer terminal calculator and other office equipment; manipulate fine instruments; and prepare pharmaceutical entities in minute proportions.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy law.
- Ability to read and transcribe required information from medication orders.
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time; pushes pulls carries and lifts light to medium loads.
Schedule:
4-10 hour shifts
Mainly works 7a-5:30p with a rotating 2nd shift working 12:30p-11p.
