Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Information and Communication Technology The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the design architecture and technical leadership of the organizations network environment. This role exists to ensure that the network infrastructure is resilient secure scalable and capable of supporting clinical business and regulatory requirements. The Senior Network Administrator provides strategic and technical direction for network technologies while maintaining overall accountability for network standards and architecture.
The position owns network design principles configuration standards and technical roadmaps and is responsible for approving and leading the implementation of complex high-risk or non-standard network changes. Acting as the senior technical authority for networking the role leads response efforts during major network incidents and outages coordinates root cause analysis and ensures corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
In addition the Senior Network Administrator provides advanced troubleshooting expertise mentors Network Administrators and collaborates closely with Cyber Security Analysts ICT leadership and clinical stakeholders to align network architecture with cybersecurity requirements system availability and organizational priorities. The role plays a critical part in planning and delivering infrastructure projects evaluating new technologies and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity oversight committees and industry best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the organizations network architecture design principles and technical standards.
- Ensure network designs support scalability security and high availability for clinical and business systems.
- Approve and review complex high-risk or non-standard network configurations and changes.
- Lead enterprise-level network projects and coordinate network aspects of clinical or business system implementations.
- Provide technical oversight during configuration deployment and integration of complex network solutions.
- Ensure network requirements are integrated into project planning risk management and testing.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex network incidents and outages.
- Lead incident response efforts for major network disruptions including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Provide guidance mentorship and technical support to Network Administrators and ICT Technical Analysts.
- Monitor emerging networking technologies industry trends and best practices.
Mandatory Qualifications
- College Diploma in network administration network engineering/architecture required
- CISCO and/or Palo Alto Certification mandatory (examples include CCNP CCNA CCIE Palo Alto Network Professional
- Minimum 5 years previous experience in Network Administration ICT related field
- Prior experience in supporting a hospital computing environment an asset
- Strong organizational time management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization
- Criminal Record Check required
