Job Summary

Position Overview

Gaston Electrical is looking to hire a BIM Coordinator who is responsible for independently taking architectural and engineering contract documents and creating electrical 3D drawings to ensure coordination with other trades are clash-free.

No agencies please.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.

  • As-builts
    • Obtain electronic copies of field As-Built Redlines for each project.
    • Request and obtain BIM files from GC for manipulation.
    • Create As-Builts using AutoCAD & Revit.
    • Provide completed As-Builts to Project Manager for Project Closeouts in BIM and PDF Format.
  • BIM Coordination Duties:
    • Attend project coordination meetings with other subcontractors.
    • Create Priority List of Coordination Task by following the GC Schedule.
    • Working with Sr. Coordinator to ensure all deliverables meet deadline requirements.
    • In conjunction with foreman and PM create 3D coordination drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
    • Review shop drawings and clash reports to ensure that all design content is fully coordinated and accounted for.
    • Work with Prefab and Electrical Design Department to prefabrication spools for conduits panels etc.
    • Spool Prefabrication Details for Prefabrication Shop and/or Field.
  • Team Duties:
    • Work with other Team Members to help make deliverable dates.
    • Seek out opportunities to advance skill set in Autodesk Softwares and Electrical knowledge.
    • Perform Quality Control for all deliverables on your project.
    • Help create an uplifting environment for the department and all employees.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of previous MEP Coordination Experience.
  • Have a working knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD and be able to create/coordinate 3D models.
  • Motivated to advance in your field of work.
  • Ability multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Have effective communication skills organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Be able to analyze problems and develop a smart solution.

Software Skills

  • Experienced with Navisworks AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook Excel and etc.)
  • Experienced with Online Meeting Platforms (Teams Google Zoom and etc.)

Language Skills

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English cooperate and collaborate with multiple levels of customer employees unions government agencies vendors and suppliers and other contractor organizations.

Compensation Range: $38.46/hour - $55.76/hour
