ER:53-bed Emergency Department is a fast-paced dynamic environment providing comprehensive emergency care for patients of all ages. As a Level II Trauma Center we deliver advanced life-saving interventions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage critical cases. The ER team is committed to excellence in patient care rapid decision-making and compassionate service during urgent and emergent situations.

SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members via therapeutic use of self the nursing process and the environment.

SUMMARY: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions as a collaborative member of the health care team in partnership with and under supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN)/provider utilizing principles of Relationship-Based Care through the effective implementation of specific aspects of the nursing process performs direct patient care to a specific group of patients and coordinates activities which relate to the flow of unit LPN acts within the scope of practice congruent with their education and includes the administration of medications as authorized. Demonstrates unit/area competencies.

The LPN may not delegate tasks to or supervise other licensed or non-licensed health LPN actively supports the activities of the unit based shared governance organizational commitment and excellence in the patient care experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Requires Possession of a certificate from a practical nursing education program accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing

Certification/Licensure:Requires current and active license to practice as LPN in State of Michigan. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
