About the position:
We are looking for an Android Developer to join our skilled product team end to end responsible for the Coop App. The App enables several important functionalities for our Coop members Loyalty and Ecommerce are the two main functional areas but the App also provides shopping list weekly offers recipes and much more.
The App is widely used in Sweden with 250 000 active users each month
The Coop App team is responsible for maintaining and developing the app in line with operational needs new business expectations innovation and continuously aligning it with ever-changing laws and regulations. The App is a native IOS and Android app and our dedicated and diverse team consists of a Product owner Tech lead and both IOS and Android developers (currently three) working closely together in a collaborative and supportive mindset.
We take personal pride in building a great and modern App and we are pleased that our App has a 4.5 rating on Google Play Store and 4.6 rating App Store.
Your work tasks and responsibilities as an Android developer:
- Design and develop high-quality user-friendly features for the Coop Android App
- Integrate RESTful APIs third party services (payments analytics push notifications) and backend systems
- Code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality
- Strengthen our functional capabilities to effectively deliver and operate both new solutions under development and existing functionality.
- Continuously developing the App in line with new laws and regulations such as PIL Price information law Accessibility law etc.
- Close collaboration with the other developers in the team Product owner Tech lead Designers Area architects and multiple surrounding teams
- Ensuring the App continuously improves and provides value for Coop members
Who are you
Personality and Expectations:
- We are looking for you who are a driven and positive Android developer ready to walk the extra mile for the team when needed and always developing your technical skills
- You take full ownership of your own work but also contribute supporing your colleagues in the team as well as contributing and improving team WoW
- Lead by example when it comes to technical skills speed quality and not least as a great team member who is easy to work with.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- English skills are mandatory Swedish beneficial
- Able to work >60% from our modern office in Solna to ensure great collaboration in the team and with other stakeholders
To be successful in this role we are looking for you with
- >4 years experience working as an Android developer
- Very good skills in Kotlin and Java
- Good knowledge with Jetpack Compose and XML-based UI-development
- Used to integrate and work with REST-APIs and JSON
- Deep understanding of Android design principles and Code standards
- Solid experience working in Android Studio and relevant troubleshooting tools
- Experience working with Jira
Its a merit if you have:
- Prior experience working with IOS platorm and development
- Prior experience working in the retail industry and larger organizations
- Prior experience working with Design System and reusable Design components
- Experience working with Scrum agile ceremonies and/or the SAFe framework
