Preschool Head Teacher - English
Summary:
The Preschool Head Teacher will with the support of an Assistant or Co-Head Teacher work to ensure that the developmental goals of Reade Street Preps programs are being met. Targeted lesson planning thoughtful self-reflections ongoing student progress reports and regular parent and colleague communication are key responsibilities. Preschool Head Teacher is also responsible for assuring compliance with the Reade Street Prep Teacher Handbook and is expected to work collegially with other staff members.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work cooperatively in the classroom with 1 other Associate or Co-Head Teacher.
- Organize and lead developmentally appropriate learning experiences and care-giving that promotes physical mental and social development.
- Create and document daily lesson plans aligned with the Reade Street Prep curriculum. Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
- Adapt instruction and materials to meet students varying needs and interests. Ensure lessons and activities are creative interactive and engaging for all students.
- Collaborate with your counterpart Spanish immersion teachers to establish a synergetic curriculum that is both appropriate and engaging.
- Exhibit professional conduct with parents and colleagues. Establish and maintain positive cooperative and effective relationships with staff.
- Arrive in your classroom at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of each class and remain for a reasonable time after each session to ensure the room is left in proper order.
- Maintain ongoing partnerships with classroom parents via emails meetings and conversations as needed. Each Friday send weekly email to classroom parents updating them on classroom activities and current learning objectives.
- Maintain records of students progress routines and interests. Keep parents informed about their childs development. Twice a year complete student progress reports and lead parent-teacher conferences. Five times a year complete curriculum checklist for each student. Write reports to ongoing schools as needed.
- Attend all required staff meetings and professional development sessions including the first Friday of each month from 7:30 am to 8:15 am.
