Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive hands-on Network Technician to join our Network Engineering team. This 3-month temporary position is based in our Ashburn VA office and requires frequent travel to client sites with the potential to transition into a full-time role.

In this role you will support the installation configuration and maintenance of network hardware; assist with troubleshooting; contribute to project-related tasks; and ensure accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is professional collaborative and capable of working both independently and alongside senior engineers while engaging effectively with customers.

Position Responsibilities

Network Installation & Configuration

Install configure and support network hardware software and data communication equipment.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues with network devices including routers switches and wireless access points.
Replace outdated network equipment with new approved hardware as required.

Technical Support & Collaboration

Support network administrators with requirements analysis network design implementation and performance monitoring.
Collaborate closely with senior engineers on daily operational tasks and project execution.
Maintain clear communication with department heads managers colleagues and customers to ensure efficient workflow and issue resolution.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations installations and updates.
Compile basic data and prepare reports and presentations as scheduled or requested.
Communicate information clearly and concisely presenting ideas and reporting findings in a professional manner.

Workplace Standards & Compliance

Adhere consistently to company policies procedures and professional standards of conduct.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive and proprietary information.
Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance punctuality and timely completion of assigned tasks.
Follow all safety and security protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Physical Requirements

Must be physically able to lift bend kneel stand sit on a daily basis. Lifting is up to 50lbs on a daily basis. Some IT components can be heavier than 50 pounds. Also use of hand drill will be a daily task. And working in dusty conditions will be common in this temporary role.

Other Duties

Manage personal workflow effectively proactively resolving issues and seeking guidance from supervisors when needed.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals.

Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge

General understanding of networking concepts and networking equipment including hubs routers and cabling infrastructure
High School diploma or GED required
Hands-on experience with the installation repair and troubleshooting of personal computers.
Ability to be flexible versatile and adaptable in day-to-day activities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
