University of Washington Medical Center-Montlakes Cardiac Procedures Unit (CVPU) has an outstanding opportunity for a Nurse Manager.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE 40 hrs/weekly

  • Day Shift

  • Five 8 hr shifts per week 1 day remote allowed


DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

TheHeart Instituteat UW Medical Center Montlake provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services.

Our services include general cardiology cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures cardiac surgery arrhythmia management and electrophysiology interventional cardiology structural heart services advanced heart failure management heart transplantand ventricular assist devices (VADs) adult congenital heart disease management cardiac psychiatry cardiovascular geneticsand other advanced services.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight and accountability for the clinical teams and services within the cardiovascular procedure areas (Cath EP CPU ICRU)

  • Work closely with the providers and other medical center leaders to ensure implementation of clinical needs and objectives is coordinated across the medical center campuses in a way that meets or exceeds standards across service line

  • Frontline manager for staff including interviewing hiring onboarding training/development performance expectations and standards of care.

  • Support a culture of excellent service and communication. Adhere to the UW Service Culture Guidelines. Assure a safe productive and supportive work environment for all staff.

  • Collaborate and ensure effective communication with other leaders in the medical center to align operations and implement/monitor interdisciplinary change initiatives and workflow adjustments

  • Implement changes and improvements associated with workflows and processes always supporting clinical quality and safety standards.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance and adherence to policies and procedures as well as other regulatory accreditation and institutional requirements.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington

  • A minimum of 5 years of cardiovascular procedures experience

  • Successful track record of effective leadership and program management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Teamwork skills which are conducive to a collaborative supportive and professional environment

  • Track record of process improvement involvement and achievements.

  • Current BLS & ACLS
