Job Summary
Position: Phlebotomist (Contract)
Location: Jamaica New York
Job Type: Contract
Schedule:
- Monday Friday: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Hours: 35 hours/week (7-hour shifts)
- Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
Compensation:
- Pay Rate: $29/hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in hospital commercial laboratory or blood bank settings and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety accuracy and quality care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures.
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate specimen labeling.
- Maintain proper handling processing and documentation of specimens.
- Adhere to all safety infection control and compliance standards.
- Provide compassionate and professional patient care.
- Collaborate effectively with clinical and laboratory staff.
- Follow established protocols policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital commercial lab or blood bank setting
Education:
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program
- High School Diploma or GED required
Certifications:
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) AHA required
