Program Goal: Looking for an opportunity to support middle school youth in a hands-on differentiated project-based Robotics curriculum Our Middle Grades Robotics Summer Program is an innovative collaboration with the Somerville High School Robotics Team all supported by the Somerville Public Schools. We are looking for a Program Coordinator to manage a team of teen mentors oversee curriculum co-design and implementation handle attendance communicate with families inspire participants redirect unfavorable behavior in a positive and supportive way and assist with additional tasks as needed.
This position works in close collaboration with the Summer Robotics Program Coordinator Somerville High School Fab Lab Manager SPELL Administration and Summer Middle Grades Robotics High School Youth Mentors
Responsibilities:
- Provide programmatic leadership and daily direction
- Willingness to learn and jump in enthusiastically
- Be able to quickly build strong relationships with students parents and staff
- Work collaboratively with SHS Robotics Teen Mentors
- Excited to serve as a role model for youth
Terms of Employment:
Seasonal/Yearly Employment
Salary: $35 per hour
Program Preparation: Tuesday July 1 through Thursday July 3 from 8:00am - 1:00pm (these dates are subject to change)
Session 1: Monday July 6 through Friday July 11 from 8:00am - 1:00pm
Session 2: Monday July 13 through Friday July 17 from 8:00am - 1:00pm
Session 3: Monday July 20 through Friday July 24 from 8:00am - 1:00pm
Session 4: Monday July 27 through Friday July 31 from 8:00am - 1:00pm
