Assistant to the Shop Foreman - North Park Lincoln at Dominion
Our company has an outstanding opportunity for a results-focused highly driven Assistant to the Shop Foreman to support daily service operations within a fast-paced environment. This role works closely with the Shop Foreman to ensure efficient workflow timely vehicle repairs and effective coordination between technicians and service advisors.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Shop Foreman in coordinating daily shop workflow and technician assignments
- Monitor repair progress and communicate status updates to service advisors and management
- Help ensure timely completion of repair orders and adherence to production goals
- Support quality control processes by reviewing completed work for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain organization of the shop including equipment tools and work areas
- Assist with dispatching work to technicians based on skill level and availability
- Track and manage repair order flow to minimize delays and downtime
- Communicate with parts department to ensure timely availability of required parts
- Help enforce safety procedures and compliance with company and manufacturer standards
- Step in to support shop operations as needed to maintain productivity
Requirements
This position requires strong organizational and communication capabilities along with the ability to multitask in a high-volume service environment. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to supporting team efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2 years of automotive service experience preferred
- Prior experience in a shop environment or dispatcher role is a plus
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision
