Senior Business Developer Digital Innovation
As our Senior Business Developer you will join the entrepreneurial leadership of Verhaert Digital. While our current team excels at technical architecture and relationship management your mission is to provide the commercial velocity needed to convert our deep-tech innovation capacity into market-leading deals.
In 2026 we are focused on a high-growth mandate. You will be the primary driver in unfreezing traditional hardware markets and transitioning clients toward high-margin digital services and recurring revenue models. This is a role for a closer who thrives at the intersection of complex R&D and financial reality.
Key responsibilities
As a Senior Business Developer you will bridge the gap between technical potential and contractual commitment:
Market Execution & Closing
- You lead high-stakes negotiations with C-suite stakeholders moving beyond consultative loops to secure definitive project commitments.
- You identify and unblock friction points in the sales cycle accelerating the transition from concept to signed deployment.
- You translate complex technical solutions (AI IoT Cloud) into rock-solid business cases focused on ROI and risk mitigation for the client.
Strategic Deal Structuring
- You architect commercial models for Digital Servitization helping clients pivot from CapEx-heavy hardware sales to OpEx-based subscription models.
- You scout and qualify high-value opportunities within our target industries where our multidisciplinary software-hardware-people connection provides a competitive moat.
- You guide clients through the economic shift of AI integration performing Buy vs. Make audits and pricing strategy assessments.
General responsibilities
- You work in multidisciplinary teams acting as the commercial lead alongside Technical Project Managers (TPMs) to ensure proposals are both feasible and profitable.
- You manage the full commercial pipeline including forecasting contract negotiation and long-term account strategy.
- You act as an ambassador for Verhaert Digital at high-level networking events fairs and executive workshops.
Your Profile
Education & experience
- You have a Masters degree and a proven track record in high-value solution sales or strategic business development.
- You have significant experience in closing complex deals within the digital transformation IoT or industrial R&D sectors.
- You have a demonstrated ability to navigate long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder decision-making processes.
Knowledge and skills
- You combine sharp business acumen with a deep affinity for technology; you speak the language of both the CFO and the Lead Architect.
- You are a Red profile by nature: results-oriented decisive and focused on bringing discussions to a definitive conclusion.
- You possess excellent analytical skills capable of synthesizing messy field data into a clear strategic path.
- You are fluent in English and Dutch; knowledge of French is a strong asset.
