Job Summary

BI Modeler & Report Developer

Role Overview

The BI Modeler & Report Developer partners with business and technical teams to design model and deliver scalable business intelligence solutions. This role focuses on building robust data models semantic layers and high-quality Power BI reports that enable reliable self-service analytics and actionable insights.

They are supporting the report development as they get closer to go live. SQL SSRS SSIS MS stack.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with business stakeholders to translate reporting and analytics requirements into well-structured BI solutions focusing on data models and reusable reporting assets.
Collaborate closely with Data Engineers Solution Developers and BI Analysts to design and maintain scalable Power BI semantic models and reporting solutions.
Design build and optimize Power BI data models including relationships measures and calculations to support interactive dashboards and standardized reporting.
Connect to multiple enterprise data sources ensuring reliable data ingestion transformation and refresh performance.
Perform data profiling and analysis to validate source data understand business logic and ensure data quality prior to modeling and reporting.
Develop Power BI reports and dashboards that follow best practices for usability performance and governance with an emphasis on reusable and scalable design.
Build BI solutions in an Agile delivery environment contributing to sprint planning refinement and iterative delivery.
Create and maintain technical documentation including data model designs report specifications and solution architecture documentation.
Support production BI solutions including scheduled refreshes enhancements defect resolution and change management.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data connectivity data modeling DAX calculations and report performance.
Adhere to established data governance security and information management standards.
Develop working knowledge of Business Unit systems processes and data domains to ensure accurate modeling and reporting.
Provide guidance and training to end users to promote adoption of BI solutions and effective self-service analytics.
Contribute to the Microsoft Power BI and Power Platform Centers of Excellence (COEs) to mature BI standards modeling practices and tool adoption across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Business Analytics or equivalent professional experience.
2 years of professional experience in business intelligence reporting or analytics roles.
Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and data modeling.
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts including relationships measures and reporting-friendly schemas.
Hands-on experience with Power BI Microsoft Fabric and Excel.
Experience with Tableau and/or Cognos is a plus.
Experience working in Agile environments; familiarity with Azure DevOps preferred.
Strong analytical thinking communication organization and time-management skills.
