Schedule: Full-time Monday Friday (8:00 AM 5:00 PM; flexible start between 7:00 8:30 AM)
Location: Fairport NY (100% Onsite)

Job Overview

Tekberry is seeking an experienced Buyer III to support procurement and supply chain operations for our client a global leader in advanced manufacturing and materials. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials equipment and services while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting operational efficiency.

This is a hands-on plant-facing procurement role requiring strong experience in purchasing execution supplier management and SAP-based systems.

Procurement & Supplier Management

• Execute purchasing activities including placing orders managing supplier communication and ensuring on-time delivery
• Support supplier relationship management including performance tracking and supplier audits
• Participate in supplier negotiations and contract administration activities
• Maintain and manage supplier agreements pricing agreements and compliance documentation

Supply Chain & Inventory Management

• Support inventory optimization including reduction of excess and obsolete materials
• Monitor material availability to ensure uninterrupted production
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering quality operations) to resolve supply issues
• Act as liaison between plant teams and supply chain functions

Process Improvement & Compliance

• Support cost reduction initiatives and sourcing strategies aligned with business goals
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies ethical standards and regulatory requirements (including ITAR)
• Assist with commodity reviews and supply intelligence activities
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies and support financial accuracy

Education

• Associates degree required
• Bachelors degree preferred (technical or supply chain-related field)

Experience

• 5 years of hands-on Buyer experience (plant or corporate environment)
• Experience placing purchase orders and managing supplier relationships
• Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Experience working cross-functionally in matrixed organizations

Technical Skills

• Strong SAP experience (required)
• Familiarity with MRP systems and procurement processes
• Experience with contract management negotiation and cost analysis
• Strong Microsoft Office skills

• Experience with Global Supply Management (GSM) processes
• Certification in supply chain or procurement (CPSM CPM APICS etc.)
• Lean / Six Sigma (Yellow or Green Belt)
• Experience supporting global or multi-site operations

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• High level of integrity and professionalism

• 100% onsite in Fairport NY
• Standard 40-hour workweek; minimal overtime expected
• Collaborative cross-functional manufacturing environment
