III Catering is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Catering Cookto support our catering and events team. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality food for events ranging from small meetings to large-scale functions.This role supports daily production execution of event menus and maintenance of kitchen standards. The ideal candidate is consistent organized and able to work efficiently in both batch-production and à-la-minute contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes portions and quality standards.
- Maintain proper food safety standards including labeling dating storage and rotation.
- Set up and break down stations for production and event execution.
- Follow event BEOs and production sheets; communicate any shortages or concerns to a chef or party lead.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly (ovens steamers tilt skillets slicers etc.).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout the shift.
- Support on-site catering execution as needed (finishing plating loading/unloading).
- Perform other tasks assigned by Chef leadership to meet operational needs.
Qualifications
- 13 years of professional kitchen experience; catering or banquet experience preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes and production plans with accuracy.
- Able to lift 4050 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Current food handler certification (or ability to obtain).
Skills & Competencies
- Reliable punctual and strong time management skills.
- Solid communication with chefs peers and front-of-house teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
- Adaptable and flexible able to shift between tasks and adjust to event changes.
- Team-oriented but capable of working independently.
Work Environment
- Primarily back-of-house kitchen; occasional on-site event support.
- Schedule may include early mornings evenings weekends and holidays depending on event demand.
