Job Summary
Overview
The Integrative Therapist is responsible for conducting therapeutic and leisure groups and individual sessions asneeded and then identifying and recording the rehabilitative activities of the patient population where they are assigned. The Therapist works under the direct supervision of Director and the Coordinator of Integrative Therapies and with the direct clinical team on the service they are assigned.
Responsibilities
Run group sessions effectively to reach therapeutic goals that include several or all of the following approaches and modes: coaching educating and/ or modeling to promote building personal life skills. These skills may focus on time-management goal setting developing and expanding leisure skills self-expression developing community supports or other resources including patient advocacy patient rights vocational assistance or other agencies or organizations that might benefit the patients well-being. Other groups that are goal oriented and focus on patient recovery may be included.
Conducts individual therapy sessions with individuals identified as in need and documents outcomes of sessions
Assess and evaluate patients with regard to needs including socialization leisure skills education and/or vocation; formulate a plan of action based on these needs.
Completes documentation in the medical record including initial assessments acceptance notes progress notes group notes education logs treatment plans and reviews and individual safety and recovery plans and adheres to the timeframe required by Hospital Policy.
Regularly attends administrative meetings and in-services in order to remain current in knowledge of clinical and administrative information pertinent to work. Maintains continuing education as related to individual certification or license requirements.
Attends regular scheduled supervision and utilizes supervisory and peer feedback to improve work performance.
Qualifications
MA degree in mental health field related to Occupational Recreational Creative Arts and or Vocational
Rehabilitation with certification registration or license. (LCAT) (CTRS) (CTRS) (CVC) (COTA)
Minimum one (1) year full time paid experience in Rehabilitative Activities or the equivalent.
Prior employment or voluntary history in a setting with responsibilities similar to or giving evidence of
ability to perform the responsibilities in the job description.
