Process Engineer Job description:
Automotive background is highly preferable with preference towards high volume assembly operations. Experience with Japanese transplants will be highly beneficial. Background in electro-mechanical equipment is critical CAD skills are required AutoCad at a minimum. Experience with Solid Edge is highly preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple projects on a simultaneous basis strong troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and time management skills will be essential in this position. Ability to interface at multiple levels and operate within cross-functional teams is critical. Experience with Lean Manufacturing methods is desirable but not essential Experienced in designing poka-yokes and simple equipment modifications. Ability to reverse engineer products as required. Experience in designing and implementing solutions to production equipment problems from simple modifications to complete equipment design and build issues. Exceptional skills in time and project management. Ability to give clear presentations of technical data at the department level. Ability to lead a small team of associates to complete a team-oriented project and create a presentation that summarizes the teams activities and achieved metrics. Develop the skill to improve communication across cultural boundaries.
High level JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a safe work environment follow all established safety policies & procedures & report all safety related issues to a member of Management. This is a hands-on-position involved in ongoing production floor activities. The Engineer will be involved daily in resolving production equipment concerns Participating in Processes Improvement Activities Implement continuous improvements within cross functional teams Handle all phases of several concurrent projects from concept through implementation and beyond Create and deliver effective presentations regarding recommended solutions and alternatives for assigned initiatives. Discuss with vendors staff and management personnel regarding purchases procedures product specifications manufacturing capabilities and project status. Special projects as directed by management. Support departmental business plan objectives. Support department 5S activities. New Model development. Address quality issue resulting in engineered countermeasures and solutions.
Minimum Education requirements:
Four-year engineering degree (mechanical or industrial) and 2 - 5 years related work experience.
