New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH) a national leader in orthopedic care is seeking a Sports Medicine Physician Assistant to join our expert orthopedic and sports medicine team. This role provides the opportunity to care for athletic and active patients with a focus on the evaluation and treatment of sports-related and musculoskeletal conditions. The PA will work collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians in a specialty-focused hospital environment. Prior orthopedic or sports medicine experience preferred.Job Description:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
At New England Baptist Hospital our Physician Assistants play a vital role in delivering exceptional orthopedic care through collaboration compassion and clinical excellence. The Physician Assistant works as an integral member of the Orthopedic Service supporting surgeons patients and the interdisciplinary care team across the continuum of care.
Clinical & Surgical Care
- Participate in surgical procedures as assigned by Orthopedic Service physicians the Chief PA and the Chief Resident
- Provide direct clinical support to NEBH Orthopedic Surgeons in both surgical and inpatient settings
- Conduct daily rounds on orthopedic patients and perform histories and physical examinations as needed
- Utilize strong clinical judgment to accurately assess diagnose and manage orthopedic conditions
- Initiate modify and communicate patient care plans in coordination with the attending physician
- Order laboratory tests diagnostic studies and prescribe medications within scope of licensure
- Maintain timely thorough and accurate medical documentation including discharge summaries
PatientCentered Care & Collaboration
- Partner with patients to identify health needs address concerns and support informed decisionmaking
- Provide education and guidance to patients and families to promote recovery mobility and wellness
- Serve as a key liaison between physicians patients and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated highquality care

- Makes clinical decisions in accordance with established policies procedures and standard practices
- Escalates complex or nonstandard situations for review or approval as appropriate

- Addresses complex clinical and operational challenges using sound judgment collaboration and creativity

Independence of Action
- Functions with a high level of professionalism under general direction and established guidelines
- Performance and clinical practice are reviewed by supervisory staff
Patient Contact
- Regular handson patient interaction in inpatient and procedural settings
- Works closely with physicians nurses medical assistants phlebotomists imaging technologists and other care team members

EDUCATION
Required: Bachelors Degree
Preferred: Masters Degree
Academic Discipline/Field of Study Physician Assistant
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required License: Licensed Physician Assistant within MA
Required Certification/Registration: MCSR DEA State of MA Federal Govt
Required: Basic Life Support Certification
QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint or Access and other web based applications. May produce complex documents perform analysis and maintain databases.
Written Communications:
Ability to communicate complex information in English effectively in writing to all levels of staff management and external customers across functional areas.
Oral Communications:
Ability to verbally communicate complex concepts in English and address sensitive situations resolve conflicts negotiate motivate and persuade others.
Knowledge:
Ability to demonstrate broad and comprehensive knowledge of theories concepts practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas.

Pay Range:
$133120.00 USD - $215000.00 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors that may include seniority education training relevant experience relevant certifications geographyof work location job responsibilities or other applicable factors permissible by law.
