M&J is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector / Lead Inspector to oversee daily field inspections and supervising inspectors on District Department of Transportation (DDOT) projects ensuring quality quantities testing MOT/work zone safety and environmental compliance meet contract requirements.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily field inspection activities for transportation construction projects.
Supervise Construction Inspectors and coordinate inspection coverage.
Ensure construction work complies with plans specifications standards and contract requirements.
Review Daily Inspection Reports (DIRs) prepared by field inspectors.
Monitor contractor operations including earthwork drainage paving utilities streetscape improvements ADA curb ramps and traffic control devices.
Verify quantities of materials incorporated into the project.
Coordinate materials testing activities and verify testing results.
Identify construction issues and coordinate with project management staff to resolve them.
Monitor maintenance of traffic operations and work zone safety compliance.
Ensure compliance with erosion and sediment control and stormwater management requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum 710 years of transportation construction inspection experience.
NICET Level III or IV Transportation Construction Inspection.
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I.
DDOT Work Zone Traffic Control certification or ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification.
District Erosion and Sediment Control Certification.
