Summary:
Serves as a catalyst for change by providing the west operations management team with HR support in the areas of employee relations recruiting and staffing coaching and counseling compensation performance management and benefits
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to employees and management on HR policies programs and procedures and ensure compliance
- Advise and assist management in the resolution of employee problems grievances complaints and terminations
- Ensure the progressive discipline polices are administered fairly and consistently
- Conduct new hire orientations and process new hire paperwork accordingly
- Participate in the performance management process including employee coaching and counseling
- Participate in group projects such as wellness events benefit open enrollment presentation and other employee presentations as required
- May perform full-cycle recruitment activities including but not limited to interviews selection hiring and the internal application process of promoting employees
- Complete special projects and duties as assigned
Requirements:
This position is 100% on-site and does not offer remote or hybrid work
- Bachelors degree in human resources or a related Business discipline
- Minimum of two years direct experience working in an HR generalist role
- Proven experience operating in a large matrixed corporate environment preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Experience serving as an HR Business Partner supporting multiple corporate functions while ensuring alignment and consistent HR guidance across the organization
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and coaching skills a positive attitude and respond quickly and professionally to client requests
- Possess practical and objective problem-solving skills and work effectively and diplomatically with all levels of the organization
- Possess a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills able to discuss HR issues with employees of all backgrounds
- Must be self-motivated and able to handle multiple projects and changing priorities
- Function well in a strong service culture and support employees at all levels
- Able to manage multiple high-priority projects with competing deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- May require 10% travel with some overnight stay
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelors degree and 2-5 years of relevant job-related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelors degree and 5-8 years of relevant job-related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelors degree and 8 years of relevant job-related experience
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Usually normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
