About the Role
A specialized California family law firm is seeking an associatelevel Family Law Attorney with 24 years of handson family law experience. This is not an entrylevel position or a litigationgeneralist role; the firm is looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in California family law and wants to deepen that expertise with strong mentorship and longterm growth. Associates are expected to focus on practising lawnot collections office administration or nonlegal work.
Responsibilities
- Handle a range of California family law matters under partner supervision including:
- Dissolution legal separation and parentage actions
- Child and spousal support (guideline and deviation analysis)
- Child custody and visitation disputes
- Property characterization and division
- Domestic violence restraining orders (preferred but not required)
- Draft and revise:
- Marital Settlement Agreements (MSAs)
- Declarations and supporting exhibits
- Motions memoranda of points and authorities and discovery requests/responses.
- Conduct legal research and prepare wellstructured persuasive written work product.
- Participate in case strategy discussions and client communications with gradually increasing responsibility.
- Appear at hearings settlement conferences and mediations (court experience preferred but not requiredtraining will be provided).
- Collaborate closely with partners associates and staff to move cases forward efficiently and with a clientcentric approach.
