Salary: Up to 22.00 per hour (depending on level of experience training and qualification)
We have an opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse to join their team of staff in theOncology department.
This is a bank role working on an as and when required basis you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties of this role include:
- Deliver Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) safely and effectively in line with national guidance local policies and competency frameworks.
- Undertake comprehensive patient assessments including pre-treatment review toxicity assessment and ongoing monitoring throughout treatment cycles.
- Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day guidance to junior nurses and support staff within the SACT service.
- Ensure compliance with SACT governance frameworks including national chemotherapy standards COSHH and medicines management requirements.
- Support service development initiatives aimed at improving patient experience safety and efficiency within oncology services.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
- Significant post-registration experience in oncology nursing.
- Level 6 or 7 qualification in the administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
- Proven experience delivering SACT independently and safely.
- Strong understanding of oncology pathways treatment regimens and supportive care.
- Demonstrable knowledge of clinical governance patient safety and medicines management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support patients in emotionally challenging situations.
