Job Summary

This role involves investigating injury to and deaths of Service Personnel analysing findings and presenting recommendations to prevent recurrence. Domestic Considerations: FTRS (LC) post some travel and overnight duty away from home station may be required.

Investigate cases of death serious injury and self-harm iot prevent recurrence. Act as XO to the Service Inquiry (SI) Team coordinating Learning Accounts and conducting liaison with units in the aftermath of serious incidents. Act as a SI President or Panel Member when required.

1. Act as XO supporting SO1 SI. Coordinate and prioritise Learning Accounts (LAs) and Learning Account Reviews (LARs) ensuring efficient responses to serious incidents.
2. Deputise for SO1 SI when required overseeing LA and LAR processes and ensuring liaison with the wider SI Team and APSG Lessons teams.
3. Lead with staff areas such as AIAR and support SO1 SI with others such as SDSM ACAI SI battle rhythm and reviewing/updating PPSI-related SOPs SOIs and policy.
4. Line manage one CS team member.
5. Review Learning Accounts providing advice to the CoC; engage with Senior Points of Authority for proposed policy changes and with the APSG lessons team to draft recommendations; identify and report trends; make formal recommendations for convening SIs/NSIs.
6. Form part of a SI Panel when required either as President or as a Panel Member conducting in depth investigation through analysis of evidence interviewing families and witnesses and collating relevant information.
7. Support broader work within the Pers Svcs branch to support emerging priorities or WF gaps as directed by Hd APSG.
