About the position
The Asset Retirement Project Coordinator plans manages environmental remediation and decommissioning projects across Asset Retirement sites contributing to site assessments remediation solution development ongoing remediation activity stewarding contractor management and ongoing monitoring & maintenance (OM&M) activities. This role is responsible for providing guidance for work that enables safe and cost-effective delivery of asset retirement projects that meet compliance and regulatory obligations. The Project Coordinator enables the Project Managers by engaging external partners and internal stakeholders facilitating clear communication and resolving issues that may impact environmental outcomes. Additionally the role collaborates with data and reporting technologists to ensure accurate tracking of site metrics and deliverables enabling informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
Project Controls & Scheduling:
Develop and manage project schedules for remediation and decommissioning activities coordinate with contractors and internal teams and maintain alignment with project milestones. Assess schedule impacts of scope changes risks and update plans accordingly.
Site Assessment & Remediation Experience:
Coordinate environmental initiatives at Asset Retirement remediation sites focusing on site assessments remediation activities and continuous improvement of environmental outcomes
Data & Reporting Collaboration:
Work closely with data and reporting technologists to ensure accurate tracking of site metrics remediation progress reporting (external & internal) and closeout deliverables. Pull together dashboards development and reporting tools for real-time insights and performance monitoring.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Support project managers in communicating with external and internal stakeholders facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all site activities comply with applicable environmental regulations company policies and best practices. Organize audits reporting and incident investigations as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
Collect and utilize lessons learned and site data to drive improvements in environmental management practices reporting workflows and project execution. Standardize procedures playbooks to drive process efficiency.
About you
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Familiarity with digital tools for both project management and environmental data tracking and reporting.
Fluency with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and applications for optimizing tasks such as data reviews and report generation.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering or related field from a recognized institution.
Experience:
3 years of experience in remediation or decommissioning project management preferably within the oil & gas or industrial sector.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations remediation technologies and project controls. Experience with data management and reporting systems is highly desirable.
Analytical & Problem-Solving:
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to recognize and resolve issues impacting environmental outcomes. Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects concurrently across multiple geographic reasons (e.g. North America and Australia).
Collaboration & Communication:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams creating clear reports and presenting to cross functional diverse stakeholders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
