Job Summary

The Housekeeping Attendant/Houseperson is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of guest and related assigned areas. Ensure that all areas of housekeeping operations are carried out and maintained to high standards at all times. To be fully converse with Hotel X Toronto Services policies procedures and operational standards. Ensures inventory levels on the guest room floors for Room Attendants maintains the public areas of the hotel and responds to guest requests as directed via HOTSOS.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain all Public areas. Cleaning all furniture ledges floors frames hinges garbage cans tables light fixtures signage etc.
  • Cleans turn around areas all entrances and entrance mats.
  • Cleans all washrooms empty all garbage containers wipe and clean inside and outside.
  • Clean sinks partitions receptacles chrome fixtures disinfect all surface areas of toilet and replace supplies as needed.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all guest floors and related areas.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping operations are carried out and maintained to high standards at all times;To be fully converse with Hotel X Toronto policies procedures and operational standards.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of your equipment during each shift. Any defaults must be reported to Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
  • Collects garbage from all areas including the hotel grounds and parking lot.
  • Dust and wipe down all surfaces chair shelves and picture frames.
  • Clean administrative office for the hotel.
  • Polish all stainless steel/chrome surfaces including all elevators.
  • Vacuum public areas and offices.
  • Steam clean spot clean all carpeted areas.
  • Deliver Guest Dry Cleaning and Laundry as and when needed.
  • Prepare and deliver required par stock of all linen for all guest floors. Ensure inventory for Room Attendants use is stocked for them on floors assigned.
  • Keep accurate records of daily productivity.
  • Respond to HOTSOS calls with regards to delivery of guest items on the floors such as cots cribs towels etc.
  • Follows all job safety standards and procedures at all times.
  • Knowing all emergency procedures and being able to respond accordingly.
  • Each employee is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) at all times when tasks require such (gloves goggles and back support handling chemicals).
  • Complies with hotel policies and procedures and wears uniform and name badges.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Practice the recycle of linen and toweling as per set hotels procedures.
  • Cleans and makes up guestrooms as and when needed according to the standards required by Hotel X Toronto performing such daily activities as (list is an example not complete)
    • Removal of all rubbish in waste bins and ashtrays;
    • Making up beds with fresh linen;
    • Dusting each piece of furniture inside and outside including lamps shades pictures and doors;
    • Vacuuming and spot cleaning of carpets in rooms
    • Cleaning by washing and drying of all areas in bathroom;
    • Replacing all guest supplies in room and bathroom.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year cleaning experience in a Hotel or related industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of guests employees and management.
  • Good organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
