Job Summary
Ensuring Charts Success
What Will You Do
Own the product lifecycle from an engineering perspective to meet the functional needs of the market while ensuring long-term product reliability
Provide technical information and define specifications for components assemblies and final products; work with suppliers to design and develop subcomponents and subassemblies
Own product design and documentation ensure manufacturing documentation is in place and up to date and lead product improvement and cost reduction efforts
Review / Approve / Process change requests design deviations and non-conformance reports as needed
Improve product consistency and reduce variance and warranty claims by working across the organization to identify and resolve potential defects
Ensure best practices in engineering design are utilized for all products to meet customer needs and provide the desired service life
Ensure products conform to all relevant industry codes and/or regulations
Assist with validation testing of products as needed
Work with product managers and interface with customers to determine product needs
Work with product managers R&D and product development teams to help define and execute the product line roadmap
Assist sales with quotes drawings site surveys and sketches
Provide support and engineering documentation for technical inquiries from customers
Work with interdepartmental teams to ensure continuous compliance to ISO and other standards
Your Education Should Be
- BS Engineering degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering but will consider Aerospace Materials Science or Nuclear Engineering disciplines
- MS degree and/or MBA is a plus
Your Experience Should Be...
Required:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter and a team leader
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
- Understanding of heat transfer thermodynamics and fluid flow
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes sheet metal fabrication machining welding
- Proficient with MS Office; especially Excel but also Teams Word PowerPoint
- Proven ability to create and modify SolidWorks CAD parts and assemblies
Preferred:
- Experience managing and/or developing product lines in small to mid-size companies
- Understanding of cryogenic liquids compressed gases or refrigeration
- MathCAD or MATLAB skills
- Experience with JD Edwards SAP or similar ERP systems
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) skills
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require
Working Conditions
- Production factory support and office environment
- Minimal work related travel may be required (approximately 15% or less)
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing sitting and walking
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs. occasional heavier lifting
- Frequent computer work
Work Hazards:
- Production floor environment will involve possible exposure to materials with rough edges temperature extremes moving mechanical parts occasional flying debris chemical cleaning solvents and their odors.
- Working with cryogenic products will involve possible exposure to pressurized flammable gas pressurized oxidizing gas pressurized inert gas and very low temperatures (-320º F).
