Position Overview

A healthcare facility inCalais MEis seeking an experiencedSurgical Services Manager / OR Scrubto oversee operations within the Surgical Services Department. This role is responsible for managing perioperative services ensuring quality patient care and supporting surgical procedures when needed.

Working under the direction of theChief Quality & Nursing Officer the Surgical Services Manager will provide leadership make administrative decisions within their scope of responsibility and ensure compliance with established standards of care policies and procedures. The role requires maintaining strict confidentiality while supporting the organizations mission vision and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee thedaily operations of the Surgical Services Department.
• Ensure delivery ofsafe high-quality age-appropriate patient carein the surgical environment.
• Provideleadership and supervisionto surgical services staff.
• Makeadministrative and clinical decisionsin accordance with hospital policies and standards of care.
• Maintaincompliance with regulatory quality and patient safety standards.
• Participate insurgical procedures by scrubbing in when required including general and orthopedic surgeries.
• Coordinate with surgeons anesthesia providers nursing staff and other departments to ensure efficient surgical operations.
• Handlestaff coordination conflict resolution and operational challengeswithin the department.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold strictconfidentiality standards.
• Perform additional duties or projects as assigned by leadership.

Minimum Education & Certifications

• Graduate from anaccredited school of nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License State of Maine.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)certification required(may obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)certification required(may obtain within 6 months of hire).
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room)certification required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum3 years of perioperative nursing experience.
• Ability toscrub in for general and orthopedic surgeries.
• Strongleadership and team management skills.
• Advancedcomputer and documentation skills.
• Demonstratedclinical proficiency in perioperative patient careusing the nursing process.
• Excellentcommunication organization and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability towork independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability torespond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
