The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is currently seeking a full time Ophthalmic Imager 2 to work in Miami. The Ophthalmic Imager 2 (OI2) is competent in the theory principles and practice of eye care. The position documents in the EMR system and performs ocular diagnostic testing using specialized instrumentation in compliance with department standards.

Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to the below.

• Color fundus photography

• Fluorescein angiography

• ICG (Indocyanine Green) angiography

• Optical coherence tomography

• Automated & manual perimetry

• Slit lamp photography

• Gonio photography

• External photography

• Ocular motility photography

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty-specific imaging instruments documents procedures and uploads images into the electronic medical record/PACS platform.

• Provides patient-centric care.

• Adheres to University of Miami policies standards and values.

• Complies with regulations and maintains patient confidentiality.

• Follows best practices of patient safety hand hygiene and infection control.

• Completes University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training.

• Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.

• Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy timeliness professionalism and thoroughness.

• Meets daily productivity goals.

• Ensures all equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order.

• Participates in assigned clinical research and maintains required certifications.

• Organizes and stock rooms for daily clinical activities.

• Travels to satellite eye centers when necessary.

• Works evenings and weekends as needed.

• Performs organizational duties as assigned.

• Maintains OPS certifications.

• Assists with training of visiting imaging technicians residents fellows and faculty members.

• Works with providers residents and fellows to provide training and customization of imaging software including hanging protocols.

• Acts as preceptor for imaging team members.

• Acts as super user for imaging technology implementations and training initiatives.

• Supports residents fellows and faculty members with imaging presentations.

• Performs ocular diagnostic examinations using specialty-specific imaging instruments under anesthesia in the OR.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Certification and Licensing:
OCT-C (Certified Optical Coherence Tomography) or CRA (Certified Retinal Angiographer)
Experience:
2 years of relevant experience

Competent in stereopsis technique.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
