Job Summary (Cath Lab Tech with IR Experience Preferred)
- Assist physicians in all aspects of invasive cardiovascular and interventional radiology (IR) procedures including scrubbing circulating monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters.
- Operate and maintain interventional and diagnostic equipment and devices for a variety of vascular and non-vascular procedures (e.g. aortagram AV fistula embolization IVC filter biopsies drains G/J tubes).
- Provide patient care by addressing physical and psychological needs ensuring safety and comfort during procedures explaining procedures and answering patient questions.
- Transfer patients onto medical equipment wheelchairs and stretchers as needed.
- Set up maintain and clean sterile trays and procedure areas before and after cases.
- Assist with administration of contrast media under physician direction.
- Maintain department inventory and supplies to ensure readiness for procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance on interventional equipment including cleaning and conducting routine safety checks.
- Participate in professional development and self-growth activities to stay current with advances in the field.
- Support Electrophysiology (EP) program (as applicable to EP Tech role) including maintaining knowledge of new developments and managing all EP-related responsibilities.
- Coordinate workflow to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency in the lab.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisors.

Education/Experience/Training Requirements (may vary by job code):
- Associates degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent experience in a Cath Lab.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
- RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification and/or ARRT registration and Massachusetts licensure for radiologic technologists.
- IABP (Intra-aortic Balloon Pump) course completion.
- EP Tech and Special Procedures Tech roles may require additional experience certifications (CI VI) or completion of EP training programs.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards in patient care and equipment operation.
