JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Application Analyst for JVA and FICO Business Solutions serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT supporting and optimizing software and data solutions (SAP) across upstream operations.
This role focuses on translating business requirements into functional designs ensuring system solutions effectively support exploration production land revenue and joint venture processes. The analyst plays a critical role in system enhancements integrations and continuous improvement initiatives within the upstream oil and gas technical landscape.
This role is a seasoned professional who applies advanced job knowledge to achieve operational goals. Works independently with limited supervision. May manage projects and processes to improve efficiency. May coach and review the work of junior employees. Problems faced are typically difficult and sometimes complex. Demonstrates integrity accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards values and culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical job responsibilities of the Senior SAP Application Analyst (FICO & JVA) include:
- Configure support and enhance SAP Division Order and PRA modules.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for SAP revenue and division order solutions ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
- Partner with upstream business stakeholders (Production Land/Division Order and Revenue Accounting) to understand processes and requirements.
- Analyze document and translate business needs into functional specifications and solution designs.
- Support system integrations with third-party upstream applications (e.g. field data capture land systems).
- Support financial applications in addition to SAP.
- Troubleshoot system issues coordinate root cause analysis and work with technical teams to implement fixes.
- Lead or support testing activities including unit integration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Develop training materials and support end-user training and change management efforts.
- Ensure data accuracy integrity and compliance with internal controls SOX requirements and regulatory standards.
- Support reporting analytics and data governance initiatives related to upstream operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams.
- Identify opportunities to streamline upstream business processes and improve system performance.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong understanding of upstream oil & gas Revenue and Division Order business processes and terminology.
- Experience gathering requirements writing functional specifications and supporting SAP configurations.
- Excellent communication documentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficient in SQL scripting and data analysis.
- Familiarity with integration tools and APIs.
- Experience with change management and system lifecycle methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses understanding of digital concepts to create basic digital tools.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems Business Engineering Accounting or a related field.
- 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or SAP Application Analyst supporting DO and PRA modules
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This position is based out of the BKV Office in Denver CO. Remote or hybrid work will be considered.
- Some travel up to (5%) may be required
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with standard business hours; extended hours may be required depending on business needs.
- May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others.

COMPENSATION:
- Salary Range: $134000 - $262000 (midpoint $187000)
