This position will report to the Legal Director EU Competition Law and advise the business and senior leadership on strategic matters be responsible for competition-related enforcement and regulatory matters across Europe and help shape the companys long-term strategy on highly relevant and novel issues.

Key job responsibilities
Drive competition and related regulatory matters across the EU and member states while partnering with local legal teams.
Advise the business and legal colleagues on competition-related matters across all Amazon businesses in Europe.
Help shape the companys long term strategy on high impact and often novel issues.
Think Big and look around corners to spot issues and identify developments of relevance for the Amazon business.
Partner with our public policy team and engage with regulators and policy makers on a broad range of issues.
Contribute as a member of the EU Competition team to develop mechanisms for training compliance and cross-functional coordination.

The role location is Brussels some travel will be required.

A day in the life
You will be based in our Brussels office and serve as competition counsel for Amazons consumer business across the EU. You will work with a team of high-performing results-oriented lawyers and internal partners committed to serving our customers. Our lawyers work at the forefront of the most challenging competition matters developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions.
As competition counsel you will drive enforcement and regulatory matters across Europe advising senior leadership on strategic issues that shape the companys long-term direction. You will manage high-impact competition cases partner with local legal teams across Member States and provide guidance on competition-related matters affecting Amazon businesses in Europe.
You will contribute to the EU Competition teams efforts to advance competition policy develop training programs and compliance mechanisms and drive effective cross-functional coordination. Your work requires excellent judgment the ability to navigate ambiguity independently and strong collaboration skills to build relationships with attorneys and internal stakeholders at all levels.

- Fully qualified lawyer with outstanding academic and legal qualifications
- 7 years of experience in competition law
- Experience in managing competition-related regulatory and enforcement matters at EU level and member states
- Experience managing and delivering results in a large number and variety of mission-critical projects and meeting deadlines.

- Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
- A team player and consensus builder with great people skills and a good sense of humor who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business clients at all levels throughout the organization
- Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity
