Job Description:
Location: This is an on-site position located at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln NE
Examples of Work:
- Plan coordinate and manage projects from initiation through completion ensuring alignment with DHHS objectives.
- Define project scope goals deliverables and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules resource plans and documentation.
- Monitor progress against milestones; provide regular status updates and reports to leadership.
- Identify and manage project risks issues and dependencies; maintain RAID logs and escalate as needed.
- Facilitate meetings with internal teams and external partners; prepare agendas capture decisions and track action items.
- Oversee project budgets and assist with procurement and invoice tracking.
- Prepare dashboards and reports using tools such as Jira Confluence Clarity or MS Project.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Foster collaboration across divisions and maintain a positive inclusive team culture.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in project management business administration public administration business information systems or a field related to the functions of the hiring agency AND two years of experience as a project manager with the responsibility to oversee the coordination planning initiation and completion of major/long-term projects OR Four years of experience and certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) OR Five years of experience working on medium-to-large projects. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience managing projects preferably in a government healthcare or human services environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with grant-funded or cross-agency initiatives.
- Familiarity with budgeting procurement and vendor management.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile Waterfall SDLC) and tools (MS Project Jira Confluence).
- Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with health and human services programs (e.g. Medicaid SNAP child welfare).
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
