Starts at $13/hour
Hours
Students will work approximately 10-20 hours per week in person and remotely.
A minimum of 4 hours per week will be required to spend in the gift shop as a greeter/cashier.
Students will meet at least once a week for project updates with museum staff.
Research and planning for outreach can be done remotely
Job Description
Museum educators engage with visitors about the museums and its collections by:
Researching natural history topics and creating various types of educational programs giving tours and hands on activities for our Discovery room.
Greeting visitors and sell items in the gift shop
Developing and implementing projects to support museum collections and exhibits like moving items labeling cleaning and organizing and making new displays.
Collaborating with other museum team members on projects and programming
Required Qualifications
Students must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at UW-Stevens Point and have a passion for natural history and enjoy relating to a variety of people. If you are a student but not enrolled at UWSP please email the hiring committee for more information.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge about natural science concepts. Please list relevant coursework or experience you have completed that relates to this job in your cover letter or resume.
