Job Description
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Specialist in Reading PA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hospitals and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed Patrol Officer at a busy hospital location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas stay visible to help deter security-related incidents and deliver outstanding customer service and this role you will support daily operations with professionalism reliability and integrity while working as part of a caring agile and innovative team.

What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors employees and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures access control activities and other security-related responsibilities at an industrial location.
- Respond to incidents alarms medical calls and/or critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner documenting observations and supporting emergency response activities as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings production areas parking areas and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
- Perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal standards and site post orders including maintaining professional firearm handling practices and reporting security-related concerns promptly.
- Monitor entrances exits and restricted areas verify credentials and/or permissions and communicate with site contacts supervisors and/or local responders when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of armed security-related law enforcement or military experience is required.
- Act 235 qualification is required in Pennsylvania only.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A valid firearms permit is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
