The Husky Union Building has an outstanding opportunity for a Payroll/Human Resources Coordinator (Human Resource Coordinator (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)) to join their team.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager the Payroll/Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for processing routine and complex payroll and human resources transactions; preparing analyzing and acting on reports; and providing excellent customer service to employees in resolving their needs. The Payroll/Human Resources Coordinator will apply their expert knowledge of federal state local and university laws policies and procedures to maintain compliance and proactively address inconsistencies errors issues of noncompliance and other problems that arise.
Candidates for this position operate with a high level of integrity and independence using their best judgement to navigate complex and interwoven regulations and procedures. They demonstrate a commitment to excellence with special attention to customer service quality. Candidates will also have strong organizational and prioritization skills and demonstrate extreme attention to detail.
Receive triage respond to and monitor incoming tickets from clients.
Complete human resources/payroll transactions on behalf of clients including but not limited to onboarding employment verifications terminations compensation changes and end date extensions.
Act as a resource to clients in answering questions advising on best practices and resolving issues.
Maintain employee records in accordance with department and university policies and procedures.
Regularly generate and review routine and ad hoc reports to maintain compliance with department university state and federal policies in a variety of fields or issues including employment authorization employment dates time and absence and compensation.
Act upon findings from reports to correct noncompliance proactively anticipate issues and address inconsistencies.
Independently research department university state and federal policies and procedures as needed.
Other related duties as assigned.

High School diploma or GED certificate and two years of office/clerical experience including at least six months of experience in a human resources or related setting.

This position reports to and works under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager.
This position works independently with oversight from the Human Resources Manager.
Flexible schedule including hybrid work opportunities available with supervisor approval. Work performed in a private cubicle within a shared office space.
HUB Finance and Business Operations serves the Husky Union Building and 10 other Student Life departments with Shared Services support encompassing human resources information technology and finance/accounting. HUB Finance and Business Operations processes thousands of transactions annually; oversees the activities of 60 full-time staff and 200 student staff; and acts as comptroller for $20 million.
The Husky Union Building serves as the center of the UW community and complements the student experience through an extensive variety of cultural educational social and recreational programs. These programs provide the opportunity to balance course work and free time in the Husky Experience.
