Team & Technology: Within the Power Solutions division based in Farmington Hills MI Bosch is leveraging our technology leadership and manufacturing scale to accelerate the global clean energy transformation. As Hydrogen is a key component in this transformation we are working on clean hydrogen production technologies with an initial focus on the heart of the electrolysis system the Hydrogen Electrolyzer stack.
Job Responsibilities: Developing an electrolyzer system in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders requires system simulations with dependencies on energy source environment functional end-use requirements and many other factors. This internship will support the development of specific electricity requirements and other
system parameters for the electrolyzer addition to your technical expertise we are looking for future engineers who can clearly and simply communicate complex technical concepts and who can effectively collaborate with a global this internship you will:
- Perform a comprehensive literature review of relevant publicly available analyses of integration of Hydrogen Electrolyzers with renewable energy systems.
- Integrate the existing 1D simulation models of the electrolyzer stack into the overall system simulation framework
- Quantify the impact of these representative duty cycles on electrolyzer stack and system operation (e.g.: load transients thermal conditions efficiency)
- Explore and quantify impacts of pairing electrolyzer systems with energy storage systems
- Support analysis of design optimization for electrolyzer system integration
- Support control strategy development for electrolyzer system integration
- Support Techno-Economic analysis for projects
- Support in scenario development for different operating conditions and applications
- Use Bosch and external simulation tools to develop representative electricity input profiles (duty cycles) for above scenarios.
- Share knowledge by clearly articulating work and ideas to fellow engineers.
- Generate insights and report to key decision makers.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or completed a masters degree in Electrical Engineering Chemical Engineering Process Engineering or related technical field with a focus on renewable energy electrochemistry or process simulation
- Experience in dynamic system modeling
- Experience analyzing simulation results interpreting data and deriving meaningful conclusions
- Experience processing and visualizing large datasets in Matlab or Python
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working Knowledge/Experience with Hydrogen Electrolyzer stacks or systems
- Knowledge of Optimization Theory
- Experience with renewable energy analysis
- Experience with 1D AMESim simulations
Additional Information :
Equal Opportunity Employer including disability / veterans
*Bosch adheres to Federal State and Local laws regarding drug-testing. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug screen and background check. Candidates who have been offered the position must pass both screenings before their start date.
