Job Summary
Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Columbia MO
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Shift: Night Shift 3x12 Hours
Compensation: Weekly Gross: $1900 $2200 (based on experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown setting. The role involves caring for a diverse patient population including surgical medical and occasional neurological cases. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and experience managing complex patient conditions including titration of vasoactive drips.
Unit Details:
- Patient Types:
- Surgical (all types)
- Medical (all types)
- Neurological (as needed)
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3 (not guaranteed)
- Floating: Required
Common Equipment Used:
- Bladder scanners
- IV pumps
- PCA pumps
- Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs)
- BiPAP / CPAP
- Optiflow / Vapotherm / Airvo
Clinical Requirements:
Vasoactive Drips (Required):
- Neosynephrine
- Amiodarone
- Cardizem
- Other titratable drips
Skills Required:
Line Management:
- IV insertion
- PICC / Central line management
- Vascular device care
- Dialysis fistula care
- Arterial line (A-line) management
Preferred:
- Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring
Cardiac Skills (Preferred):
- 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Sheath removal
- Cardioversion / Defibrillation
Airway Management (Required):
- CPAP / BiPAP
- Tracheostomy care
Ortho / MS / Oncology (Required):
- Epidural and PCA pump management
- Feeding tubes
- Wound VAC
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Active State Nursing License
Required Certifications:
- ACLS
- BLS / BCLS
- NIHSS
