Description

HealthPartners is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for a per diem position with our orthopedic practice providing inpatient care at our practice based at Mercy Hospital.

This position will coordinate patient care and assist our surgeons in directing post operative care for our orthopedic patients including admissions and discharges. Additionally this individual will assist in the operating room as First or Second Assist as needed including preparing grafts closing incisions. This position is part of a very collegial and supportive team including advanced practice providers orthopedic surgeons and fellows.

Schedule: 1-2 weekends (FRI SUN) per quarter or as determined by the Orthopedics Department. Required home call Friday evening onsite rounding and OR coverage along with day call on Saturday and Sunday. Night call responsibilities both Saturday and Sunday nights.

Qualifications:

  • Certified and licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.

  • Candidates must have at least 1-2 years experience in orthopedic surgery including OR experience and seeing patients independently.

  • Ability to First and Second assist including closing wounds preparing graphs ect.

  • Ability to apply and remove casts and splints
