How youll contribute

A Patient Advocatewho excels in this role:

  • Drive a positive patient and family experience by proactively identifying opportunities to improve care resolve concerns and promote patient- and family-centered practices across units and departments.

  • Conduct patient rounds to engage with patients families and caregivers ensuring concerns are heard and care experiences are enhanced.

  • Listen to patient concerns investigate and document issues and collaborate with leadership providers and staff to achieve timely and appropriate resolutions.

  • Serve as a visible patient advocate maintaining a professional calm and empathetic approach while ensuring patients feel respected supported and informed.

  • Facilitate communication between patients families and care teams to help patients better understand their rights treatment plans and hospital policies.

  • Partner with hospital leaders physicians and staff to support service recovery efforts and implement action plans that improve patient satisfaction and care delivery.

  • Maintain accurate documentation complete post-discharge follow-up calls and assist with reporting and root cause analyses while ensuring patient confidentiality.

What were looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with patients families providers and staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced or stressful healthcare environment and take appropriate action when needed.

  • Strong organizational documentation and follow-up skills with attention to detail and patient confidentiality.
