JOB TITLE: IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN I
EDUCATION & SKILLS
- High School Diploma
- Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
- Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered in appropriate circumstances
REPORTS TO:Assistant Director of IT and the Executive Director/CIO
The IT Support Technician I will promote education by ensuring the proper function of district technology hardware software systems and peripherals. The IT Support Technician I will provide basic technology support for end users of Yukon Public Schools.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Departmental Management
- Communicate strategic goals initiatives policies and procedures to promote a cohesive implementation of any/all information/instructional technology projects and programs.
- Facilitates the day to day operational functions scheduling and reporting of the Information Technology Division.
Desktop Services Operation
- Responsible for day to day level 1 maintenance of the districts technology hardware software systems peripherals and student information system.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all district software hardware and student data systems.
- Demonstrate and maintains a working knowledge of Microsoft/Apple Desktop Operating Systems.
- Must demonstrate knowledge in technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate with a wide variety of District personnel with varying degrees of technological expertise.
- Provide levels 1 support for district desktop and mobile device software and hardware.
- Aid in the facilitation of upgrades/installations of district technology hardware.
- Promote the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of other members of the department during peak periods or when there is an overload of duties or fill in when an individual is away from the office.
- Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be required to accomplish the essential job functions as directed by Superintendent or his designee.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties performed primarily in school settings to include: offices computer labs and classrooms.
Frequent lifting up to 30 pounds; occasional lifting up to 75 pounds.
Ability to safely navigate step ladder; ability to reach overhead; stoop; bend; crawl; and kneel.
Working hours are mostly daytime hours; with some flexibility required based on projects or troubsehooting situations
Generally the job requires 50% standing 40% walking and 10% sitting.
Must maintain a valid drivers license; must have reliable transportation and the ability to drive to multiple work locations within the school district.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy of evaluation of support personnel.Due to the uniqueness of each job some of the above job performances may not apply.
