Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer to design develop and integrate high-performance real-time software systems supporting advanced defense technologies. The role involves embedded systems development distributed architectures sensor data processing and automated system solutions for mission-critical platforms.
The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions from concept development through integration deployment and performance validation within complex hardware and software environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design develop implement test debug and integrate real-time embedded software for complex systems involving multiple processors sensors and FPGA-based hardware.
Develop high-performance applications using C/C in embedded environments including Linux and RTOS platforms such as VxWorks or Green Hills.
Architect and implement automated systems and big-data processing pipelines for high-volume sensor and operational data.
Build distributed systems and data platforms using technologies such as APIs sockets REST shared memory or GRPC.
Integrate AI/ML models and signal processing algorithms into operational systems.
Translate functional requirements into technical architectures design specifications and executable solutions.
Support system integration testing performance optimization and deployment of mission systems.
Participate in design reviews proposal development and engineering lifecycle processes.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across software hardware and systems engineering teams.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Systems Engineering or related STEM discipline
5 years of software engineering experience (or 3 with advanced degree)
Strong proficiency in C/C development
Experience with embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as Linux VxWorks or Green Hills
Experience integrating hardware firmware and software systems
Active DoD Secret Clearance required
Willingness to travel up to 10 15%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) and performance optimization
Knowledge of linear algebra and algorithm optimization
Experience with Python Rust or C#
Experience designing distributed architectures and data pipelines
Familiarity with big data frameworks (Hadoop Iceberg Impala Trino)
Experience with sensor systems such as Radar Electronic Warfare or Electro-Optical systems
Experience with MATLAB vector processing libraries or high-performance computing
