Summary:
-
Apply chemistry physics and materials science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods
-
Provide technical evaluation and support for composite part fabrication
-
Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for material and process issues
-
Create and execute test plans write reports and contribute to material tool and process specifications
-
Qualify and approve equipment materials and processes
-
Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory
-
Coordinate with other disciplines including Design Production Manufacturing Quality and Procurement
-
Travel to suppliers as needed
-
Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines
-
Manage test/audit programs ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance and incorporate EHS LEAN and Quality principles
Requirements:

Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance (interim or final post-start). U.S. Citizenship required. Special Program Access or other government access requirements may apply.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Engineering Technology) Chemistry Physics Mathematics Data Science or Computer Science

Bachelors degree plus 2 years of experience or Masters degree
Preferred Experience:
-
1 years working with composites elastomers and associated processing techniques
-
Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques
-
Familiarity with materials such as epoxy cyanate ester bismaleimide urethane polyimide reinforcements and adhesives
-
Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis
-
Experience in technical specifications reports and test plans
-
Comfortable reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office
-
Experience creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
