Position Overview
TheTool/Die Technicianis responsible for the installation setup maintenance and troubleshooting of extrusion tooling used in HDPE pipe manufacturing. ThisTool/Die Technicianrole plays a critical part in ensuring production efficiency minimizing downtime during changeovers and maintaining product quality standards.
Required Experience & Skills
Strongmechanical aptitudeand experience working with industrial equipment
Ability toread and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Experience withhand tools precision measuring instruments and lifting equipment
Strongproblem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work safely in amanufacturing environment
Familiarity withextrusion or plastic manufacturing processes preferred
Knowledge oftooling alignment calibration and dimensional accuracy
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
TheTool/Die Technicianrole includes:
Performtooling setup and changeoverson extrusion lines (dies mandrels sleeves and related components)
Remove clean inspect and reinstall tooling according toproduction schedules
Ensure properalignment and installationto maintain product accuracy and quality
Supportline startupsfollowing tooling changes
Maintain and inspect tooling to identifywear defects or damage
Assist withpreventative maintenanceand tooling care
Troubleshoot production issues such aswall thickness variation ovality and surface defects
Collaborate with operators and supervisors duringchangeovers and production runs
Follow allsafety procedures including lockout/tagout and proper lifting practices
Maintain a clean and organized work area following5S standards
Track tooling usage and assist withinventory management and documentation
Preferred Experience
Experience inHDPE pipe extrusion or plastic manufacturing environments
Knowledge ofdie tooling calibration systems and vacuum tanks
Understanding ofpipe tolerances and quality requirements
Physical Requirements
Ability tolift and maneuver heavy tooling components
Frequentstanding bending and climbingaround equipment
Ability to work in environments withheat noise and moving machinery
