Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support cost management services for major Data Center Construction programs.
The ideal candidate is driven detail-oriented and aligned with Turner & Townsends purpose and values.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on procurement strategies manage vendor prequalification assess proposals and bid leveling documents provide recommendations participate in bid interviews and manage the appointment process.
- Manage project estimating activities including the development of construction cost estimates (construction fees direct works and other costs) review estimates prepared by junior staff present estimates and value engineering options to clients conduct cost validations with vendors and benchmark against prior projects.
- Lead cost reporting including establishing reporting schedules reviewing and presenting cost reports and forecasts maintaining the commercial risk register and hosting periodic meetings with the project team and vendors.
- Oversee cost control processes: review payment applications liaise with project managers on contractor entitlements assess vendor change order requests provide recommendations and support dispute prevention and resolution.
- Manage and monitor invoicing processes.
- Benchmark performance against other successful data center commissions.
- Manage final accounting activities post-contract audits and close-out processes.
- Facilitate postcontract reviews and contribute to lessonslearned documentation and training materials.
- Develop handover procedures and documentation.
- Utilize cost management tools such as bid analysis sheets change control forms cost estimating software and takeoff software.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in construction management cost management quantity surveying engineering or a related construction field.
- 35 years of experience in a cost management role within the construction industry.
- Experience on medium to largescale construction projects; data center or missioncritical experience strongly preferred.
- Construction consultancy experience is highly desirable.
- RICS accreditation or progression toward accreditation is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry practices procurement routes value management and value engineering.
- Excellent communication and stakeholdermanagement skills.
